NASSAU| Teachers and students are joined by family in the loss of follow student Anton Bowe. He tragically lost his life on campus after being struck by lightening on Monday morning.
Bowe was under a tree in the school yard when the incident unfolded.
The 16-year-old, 11th grade student is remembered by his school community as a “hardworking”, “giving” and “gifted” top stream student, according to Principal Shari Russell.
Parliamentary Secretary Keenan Johnson offered condolences to Anton’s family and to the students and staff of R.M. Bailey Senior High School on behalf of Education Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. I. Chester Cooper who had a morning meeting with the BUT President and Cabinet.
Students and school leaders of sister school, C.H. Reeves Junior High, were also present to honour his life.
Anton sadly passed away yesterday on the school’s campus after being struck by lightning.
Grief counseling will continue for members of the R.M. Bailey Senior High School community during this difficult time.
