PM DAVIS: I want to begin by thanking Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Chester Cooper, along with Bahamas Union of Teachers President Belinda Wilson and her executive team, for working together to bring this agreement across the finish line.
Teachers give so much of themselves every day. They encourage our children, guide them through difficult moments, and help prepare them for the future. Their work deserves our respect, and that respect must be reflected in how we support them.
This agreement is one way we are honouring their service and sacrifice through better salaries, improved benefits, support for Family Island teachers, and more opportunities for professional development.
To every teacher across The Bahamas: thank you for everything you do. We see your work, we value your service, and we will continue working to ensure you receive the support you deserve. You have our full support, and this government will always have your back.
