Opposition should consider allowing former PM Hubert Minnis to take a seat in the Senate!
NASSAU| Changes are expected to come inside the opposition bench of the UPPER HOUSE as Bahamas Press reports defeated St. James FNM candidate Shanendon Cartwright aka Mr Miyagi will be sworn in as a Senator.
The move comes as WEAK Michael Clifton Pintard seeks to stabilize his opposition FNM party which, received a roasting CUT^^^ in the May 12th General Elections by the Davis Progress Driven PLP.
Cartwright, who fled St. Barnabas, collecting all the constituency allowance and failing to look back to the people who gave him two terms as an MP, now will accept the Pintard arrangement inside the Senate.
Now this move will be interesting because one FNM Senator must leave to make room for Cartwright.
Insiders tell us the failed businessman and defeated FNM candidate Ulrich ‘RICK’ Fox will be asked to step down as a senator. Now BP is writing this because we want to make sure that move doesn’t happen! But this is what we hear and we hope the FNM continues to break up with Pintard at the wheel.
Under Pintard, the FNM’s support with voters declined to a rock-bottom low 36% in the May 12th General Elections. And, from what our most recent data shows, that support has dropped to 29% following a BBB Analytics polling in early September.
If the FNM really wanted to go somewhere other than down, they would consider placing former PM Hubert Minnis in the Senate to help stabilize the decline of the FNM. But who are we for the FNM to listen to us? Unlike them, we at Bahamas Press work for the PEOPLE OF THE BAHAMAS!
