When will the Government return 124 acres of land granted to Bob Coughlin to the PEOPLE of the Bahamas?
EXUMA| Bahamas Press is shocked to the core as we now read the transcript from a hearing involving the big row up in the EXUMAs.
We at BP gata rolled this out over some time but from just reading the report someone has decided to commit a complete rip-off from the people of the Bahamas!
In summary, here is what we intend to expose. Claimed developer Bob Coughlin walked into the Bahamas seeking to grab some 124 acres of Crown Land under the pretense that he intends to build an eco-friendly resort in the Exumas.
He comes in, gets the land for $20k per acre and proceeds to begin a construction without any approvals and without even making an application for his said “eco-friendly” resort.
According to his hired contractor, Mr Jeffery Clarke, sometime in March 2025 Coughlin changed his plans to construct a resort and built a private residence all designed for himself (Bob Coughlin), his family and a few friends. WHAT A TIME IN JERUSALEM! When was the Government and People of the Bahamas going to know this?
Get this readers of BP: The Government of the Bahamas (us) gave a man who walked in here 124 acres on the promise to build a resort and then, after getting the land, he decided to change his mind.
Like a rogue entity, the developer starts his own construction with no oversight and then Bob gets upset ’cause a second development building a real resort comes along and has planned to build a dock just across the way from his private beach front home (permission for which, by the way, was granted on the premise that a resort would be built).
Bahamas Press now reading the details of these proceedings wonders when will the Government of the Bahamas return those Covenants of Land granted on a LIE to the people of the Bahamas?
Think about this now: Bob Coughlin, a foreigner, walks into the Bahamas and gets one acre of land for $20K per acre. Around here Bahamians are paying in some cases up to $500k for one acre!
This kind of rip-off of Bahamian land based on lies cannot continue and MUST END!
