NASSAU| In what will unfold as a nasty political row the Grand Bahama Port Authority, which will soon be kicked out of the Port by the Bahamian people, has dismantled billboards displaying candidates for the PLP and COI.
The GREEDY PORT, however, has permitted circulation of FNM candidates on digital billboards in Freeport. Now this decision by the GBPA will crush the FNM as the people on that island, we are told, are VEXED TO THE CORE with GBPA and THE FNM!
We understand multiple attempts to resolve the issue by PLP high command have been ignored and multiple telephone calls have gone unanswered. WELL, WHAT IS THIS!
For months and years the FNM has behaved as a mouthpiece for the GBPA – even when screams by Grand Bahamians have echoed that the time to dismantle the Port is past due.
Overnight the GBPA and its FNM inspired operatives have removed all PLP signage erected in the Freeport area.
Freeport BYE-Laws clearly state that “It shall not be necessary to obtain the prior approval of the Port Authority for the display of advertisement” as it relates to parliamentary elections. SO WHAT HAS CHANGED!
