NASSAU| The Della and Stanley Wilson preschool (named after the parents of Sir Franklyn Wilson) celebrated some twenty years in meeting the educational needs of all the youths in the surrounding constituency of St. Barnabas.
This need in the community was met 20 years ago by the Wilson’s Family Foundation which has contributed to many educational needs in the country.
Sir Franklyn Wilson, who got his early education at St. Barnabas, found pleasure in giving back to the community and saw this special facility as a golden opportunity to give back to the neighbourhood in which he was born. St Barnabas church was established as a mission church out of St. Agnes in October 1928, with its foundational stone laid on March 1, 1929. Sir Franklyn was baptised and educated by the church and saw his contribution as a way to give back to the church and community which gave so much to him. The Day Care today includes a pre-school and Sir Franklyn noted that, over the years, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education, the preschool now provides a free education with lunch resulting in quality early learning with a strong start For A Bright Future in St. Barnabas.
