BP is showing live pics from that accident scene in El Paso Texas Saturday night. Police identified the victim as Errol McKinney, 33, of El Paso. Investigators are still looking for the driver and vehicle that fled the scene of the crash.

El Paso, Texas — El Paso Police told Bahamas Press a Fort Bliss soldier was killed in a hit and run crash Saturday night.

Errol McKinney, 33, was killed on his motorcycle on the 9100 block of Dyer just before 10 p.m. McKinney was the second native to lose his life while travelling on a motorcycle over the weekend. On Friday businessman 41-year-old, Avian Morley, an Eleutheran native lost his life when he crashed into a fence in Governor’s Harbour.

A Fort Bliss spokesman has confirmed McKinney was a soldier who had returned from deployment in Afghanistan within the past two weeks.

Investigators said a dark colored SUV was driving in the opposite direction of the soldier, but then made a u-turn. That’s when police said the soldier was hit.

Police in El Paso are asking for your help in catching the driver. They say if you have any information you need to call them right away.

The news of McKinney jr. death has hit family members hard with some still in shock at the lost of a young man so full of life.

A family friend told BP, “We are really sorry to hear the news of McKinney’s tragic passing. We are really sorry for his lost.”
