Nassau, Bahamas — RBDF members are mourning at this hour the abrupt and sudden loss of one of their colleagues.
BP has learnt Senior Lieutenant Ray Davis, who succumbed to a sudden illness earlier today. Davis was on the job when he collapsed taken to hospital and never recovered.
The incident unfolded around noon today.
In paying tribute to the life of Davis Commodore Bowe issued the following: “On behalf of the Officers, Warrant Officers, and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, and on behalf of myself and family, I wish to express our deepest condolences to Mrs. Davis, their children and other family members for the loss of Senior Lieutenant Ray Davis, who succumbed to a sudden illness earlier today. Senior Lieutenant Davis was a fine officer, who loved and served his country for the past 29+ years. We appreciated his hard work, professionalism, dedication and commitment to duty. His presence shall be greatly missed. We pray God’s peace over you and your bereaved family members and loved ones in this, your hour of need.”
