Nassau| The 22-year-old man killed in last night’s Wilson Tract shooting has been identified as a rapper known by street name ‘Phetty’.

Police are investigating the deadly shooting that left him dead and two others, including a 17-year-old, hospitalized.

According to police, officers were alerted by ShotSpotter technology to gunfire in the Wilson Tract area shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Police say shortly before 11 p.m., three masked men [one being Phetty] emerged from a silver Japanese-model vehicle parked outside a residence and opened fire on a group of people gathered in the yard.

During the shooting, one of the alleged gunmen was fatally wounded. Police say the deceased was wearing a mask at the time. He was dressed in a grey hooded jacket, black shirt and black pants and suffered gunshot wounds to the upper body. EMS examined him at the scene and found no signs of life.

Two other men were injured. A 17-year-old was shot in the lower back, while a 20-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks. Both were transported to hospital. Their conditions are not yet known.

The investigation continues.
