The late Hon. Dr. Rosita Beatrice Missick-Butterfield, MBE

Nassau, Bahamas – First Female Speaker of the House of Assembly of the Turks and Caicos Islands will be handover to the TCI authorities today for final burial at the Odyssey Airport.

The Honourable Dr. Rosita Beatrice Missick-Butterfield, MBE aged 78 years, of Turks and Caicos Islands, was a retired Registered Nurse; former first female Member of Parliament for the constituency of Kew, North Caicos, Turks and Caicos Islands.

She led a successful career as a businesswomen; and served as the First-Lady and Pastor of Faith Tabernacle Church Of God Turks and Caicos Islands. She died at Doctor’s Hospital on Saturday January 10th.

At this hour her body is being handed over to the Speaker of the House of Assembly for the Turks and Caicos Islands by our Speaker of the House of Assembly [Bahamas] Dr. Kendall Major.

Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade, and the top leadership team and the Guard of Honour are all present at this hour…
