Thomas A. Robinson

Nassau, Bahamas –– We can confirm a state recognized funeral is being prepared for the late Thomas Augustus Robinson. The legendary sports iconic figure passed away Sunday morning at age 74.

Prime Minister Perry Christie, a friend of the late sportsman hailed Mr. Robinson as a great hero to the country.

And therefore, as a result of his role through sportsmanship, the Christie Government will lay in state the remains of the sports giant in the new National Stadium, which is named in his honour.

The news is fitting as just yesterday the IAAF World Sports Council ratified the new national stadium as a GRADE 2 sports facility; making it ready for international competition.

Meanwhile, more fresh breaking news out of the Cabinet confirm educators Arlene Nash-Ferguson and Dr. Nicolette Bethel have been commissioned by the Christie Government to begin writing a curriculum on the 40th Anniversary of The Bahamas to be studied in schools around the country.

The new buzz word is the new focus by the Christie Administration to teach every boy and girl the history of The Bahamas – One Cabinet Minister described the vision of the government to be placed under the headline – “Retooling the DREAM”.
