On Wednesday, 7th October, 2026, police launched an investigation into a fatal traffic accident that occurred in the vicinity of Western Esplanade, West Bay Street, which claimed the life of an unidentified male and left a 22-year-old male hospitalised.
According to the preliminary report, shortly before 2:00 a.m., a concerned citizen reported to the Arawak Cay Police Station that a serious traffic accident had occurred just east of the station, on
the seaside, and requested police assistance.
As a result, officers responded to the scene, where they encountered a black Nissan Cube with extensive front-end damage and two male occupants. The male passenger was found unresponsive on the northern side of the street. He was reportedly dressed in a white singlet shirt and red-andwhite shorts.
Emergency Medical Services attended the scene, examined the unresponsive male and confirmed that he displayed no signs of life. The driver, who sustained injuries to various parts of his body,
