STATEMENT:The Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) acknowledges the ongoing challenges being experienced by our customers in Lower Bogue, Current, Upper Bogue, The Bluff, Oleander Gardens, Harbour Island and Spanish Wells / Russell Island who are experiencing periods of low water pressure and / or no water supply over the past several days.
WSC sincerely apologizes to all residents and businesses affected. We understand that reliable access to water is essential to every household and business, and we recognize the inconvenience these challenges are causing across the communities of North Eleuthera, Harbour Island and Spanish Wells / Russell Island.
These challenges are due to lower than normal water production at our Bogue Desalination Plant combined with recent heavy rainfall which has adversely impacted our Bogue Wellfields and other related utility issues. WSC is working closely with our Desalination Contractor and other utility partners to urgently address these issues. Our Desalination Contractor has advised that works are actively ongoing at the Bogue Desalination Plant with an anticipated increase in water production expected this weekend.
In the interim, WSC teams are working to limit the impact on all customers. Residents and businesses are urged to conserve water usage where possible and to quickly report any water leaks or water wastage.
