POLICE are reporting the seizure of two illegal firearms, the arrest of 11 Jamaican females and the arrest of a number of prolific offenders wanted for murder, armed robbery and other serious offences as their major anti-crime operation intensified over the past 48 hours.

During last night’s operation police acting on intelligence descended on a nightclub located at Kemp Road, where they arrested a 23 – year man and a 20 – year old man after they found two handguns in their possession. Police also arrested 7 persons and seized 7 vehicles suspected of being stolen at this location.

Other arrests during last night’s operation include:

22 – Persons for firearms related offenses

18 – Persons for Breach of the Immigration Act

2 – Persons for Possession of Dangerous Drugs

2 – Persons for Outstanding Criminal Warrants

1 – Person for Murder

1- Person for Armed Robbery

During Friday night’s operation police acting on intelligence descended on a nightclub located in Montel Heights, where they met 11 women from Jamaica, whom they suspected to be at that location for the purpose of solicitation for prostitution. The women were taken into custody for Breach of the Immigration Act. The club owner was also arrested for breach of the Business License Act.
