Another Murder in Grand Bahama this morning

Freeport, GBBahamas Press is reporting the 207th murder in the country since 2009.

We can confirm a male was found shot multiple time about the body in a vehicle on Weddell Ave, in Freeport Grand Bahama, shortly before 12 midnight last night. The male believed to be a known criminal to the Grand Bahama Community.

ARMED ROBBERY

Shortly before noon on Monday 7th March, 2011 police received information of an armed robbery at Early Bird Supermarket, Robinson Road.  Police responded and information received that two males, wearing blue shirts and brown pants, one of whom was allegedly armed with a handgun entered the establishment demanding cash.  The culprits robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot into the Ridgeland Park area.  Police are investigating.

STABBING

Sometime around 6:30 pm on Monday 7th March, 2011 police received information of a stabbing at St. James Road.  Police responded and information received that two females while at St. James Road got into an altercation which resulted in 20 year old female being stabbed to the upper arm and hand.  The victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle.   At present her condition is unknown. Police investigations continue

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY ARREST

Shortly before 7:00 pm on Monday 7th March, 2011 police received information of an attempted armed robbery at Miracle Cut Barber Shop, Moore Avenue and Palm Beach Street. Police responded and information received that a light skin male armed with a handgun entered the establishment and demanded the cash.  It is reported that a customer and two employees got into an altercation with the culprit which resulted in the culprit being disarmed. The males held the culprit at bay and handed him over to police along with a handgun and ammunition.  The suspect is a 17 year old of Farrington Road.  Police investigations continue.

SHOOTING

Sometime around 9:55 pm on Monday 7th March, 2011 police received information of a shooting at Butler Street, Nassau Village.  Police responded and information received that a silver Honda Inspire L/P number unknown occupied by three (3) males pulled up.  It is reported that one of the males armed with a handgun, exited the vehicle and fired gunshots in the direction of the female which resulted in the female receiving gunshot injuries to both thighs.  The 42 year old victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where she is detained in stable condition.  Police are following significant leads into the matter.  Police investigations continue.
