BODY FOUND, ARMED ROBBERY and Murder in BP’s Crime Update

Crime Report Tuesday 14th, Sept. 2010…

HOMICIDE ABACO

Sometime around 4:45 pm Monday 13th September, 2010 police at Abaco received information of a stabbing at Curry Lane, Murphy Town Abaco.  Police responded and discovered the body of a black male lying on his back in the driveway of a residence at Curry Lane with injuries to the stomach.  It is reported that the decease got into an altercation with another male and was subsequently stabbed with an object.  The victim was taken to the local clinic where he was pronounced dead.  Police are questioning an 18 year old male of Murphy Town in connection with this incident.  Police investigations continue.

BODY FOUND

Around 7:00 am on Tuesday 14th September, 2010 police received information that the body of a female was found in an efficiency at the rear of a home on Cowpen Road.  Police responded and discovered the naked body of a 45 year old female partially decomposed with no signs of trauma to the body.  At present police are uncertain as to what may have caused the death of this female; however, investigations continue.

ARMED ROBBERY

Shortly after 4:00 am on Tuesday 14th September, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Texaco Service Station located East West Highway and Baillou Hill Road.  Police responded and information received that two males both allegedly armed with handguns entered the establishment demanding cash.  The culprits robbed the establishment of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area on foot into the Baillou Hill Estates area.  Police investigations continue.

STABBING

Sometime around 9:15 pm on Friday 10th September, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Market Street and Brougham Street.  Police responded and information received that a 35 year old male of Quakoo Street was walking on Market Street in the area of Brougham Street, when he was attacked by three (3) males and subsequently stabbed multiple times to the body.  The victim was taken to hospital via ambulance where he is detained in stable condition.  Police are investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 11:20 pm on Saturday 11th September, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Soldier Road and Chenille Avenue (Corner east of East Street).  Police responded and information received that a female was sitting in white 2006 Honda Accord L/P 234359, when a dark male allegedly armed with a handgun entered the vehicle and ordered the female out.  The female exited the vehicle and the culprit fled the area in the vehicle, traveling north on Chenille Avenue.  A short while later, police recovered the vehicle on Armeryllis Ave, Garden Hills, destroyed by fire.   Police investigations into this matter continue.

DRUG ARREST

Sometime around 7:00 am on Sunday 12th September, 2010 officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, while on patrol at the Lynden Pindling International Airport, (LPIA) arrested a 25 year old male of Mount Tabour Drive as he attempted to board a flight to the United States.  The suspect was arrested after being found in possession of a quantity of suspected cocaine.  The drugs have a street value of five ($5,000.00) thousand dollars.  Police investigations continue.

DRUG ARREST

Sometime around 3:00 pm on Sunday 12th September, 2010 officers of the Acklins District acting on information executed a search warrant on a home
at Mason Bay, Acklins.   Officers recovered in the car garage, a quantity of suspected marijuana inside a cooler.  A 36 year old male of Snug Corner, Acklins was taken into custody.  The drugs have a street value of twelve thousand ($12,000.00) dollars.  Police investigations continue.

FIREARM RECOVERED

Sometime around 4:30 pm on Sunday 12th September, 2010 officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information conducted a search of a bushy area at Strachans Alley off Kemp Road where officers recovered a handgun.  No one was taken into custody.  Police investigations continue.

FIREARM RECOVERED

Shortly after 9:00 pm on Sunday 12th September, 2010 officers of the Drug Enforcement were on patrol on Wrights Lane, when they observed a male acting suspiciously.  The culprit on seeing the police fled the area.  Officers were able to recover a handgun with ammunition.  Police investigations continue.

HOMICIDE

Shortly after 11:00 am on Monday 13th September, 2010 police received information that the body of a black male was found in an abandoned building at Haven Sub-division Road off Soldier Road. Police responded and discovered the lifeless body of male clad in a tangerine shirt, short tan pants and white tennis shoes with injuries to the left side of the head.  EMS responded and pronounced the victim. Police are investigating and appealing to members of the public with any information regarding this and any other incident to kindly contact them.
