Nassau, Bahamas – Police are seeking the public’s help in locating Brandon Cooper of Plantol Street. Police considers Brandon Cooper to be armed and dangerous and advise members of the public not to approach him. Instead, contact police immediately with any information.

Cooper is believed to be involved in a string of armed robberies that resulted in anumber of persons being held up and robbed of their vehicles, cash and jewelry over the past several days.

Police wish to remind members of the public that it is a criminal offence to harbour wanted criminals, and persons providing a safe haven for criminals will be prosecuted.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) OR 1-242-300-8477 (FAMILY ISLANDS).

POLICE CRACK ARMED ROBBERY RING’ – ONE SUSPECT IN CUSTODY, ANOTHER BEING SOUGHT

Nassau, Bahamas – The daily execution of the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016 continues to reap positive results, this time with the arrest of a suspect who is suspected in several recent armed robberies.

Excellent ‘textbook’ Police Work has resulted in the arrest of an adult male on Friday 26th February 2016, whom police believed is one of two masterminds behind a string of armed robberies that resulted in a number of persons being held up and robbed of their vehicles, cash and jewelry over the past several days and weeks.

However, police are seeking the public’s help in locating the other suspect Brandon Cooper of Plantol Street.

ANOTHER ILLEGAL FIREARM SEIZED BY POLICE

Nassau, Bahamas – Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2016, Police continue to reap success in ridding the streets of illegal firearms with the seizure of a firearm on Sunday 28th February 2016. According to reports, officers from the Mobile Unit were on patrol on Madeira Street, when they saw a group of males standing behind a club. The males on seeing the officers fled on foot. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the males. The officers made a check of the area where the males were standing and uncovered a .40 pistol.

Police are reminding the public to play their part in reducing criminal activities by reporting illegal weapons and other criminal offences.

12 SUSPECTS ARRESTED AS POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION CONTINUES

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, Police are reporting the arrest of 12 persons for various criminal offences as their anti-crime operation led by officers from the Selective Enforcement Team continued on Saturday 27th February 2016.

During the operation, 12 persons were arrested for questioning reference to Murder, firearms and Dangerous Drugs.

The police anti-crime operation is aimed at reducing crime and to send a clear message to those responsible for committing criminal acts on members of our communities, that the police will proactively identify them, thoroughly investigate the offences they commit, and ensure that they are prosecuted and brought to justice.

SHOPBREAKING SUSPECT IN CUSTODY, 3 OTHERS BEING SOUGHT

According to reports, police receive a report of a shop breaking in progress on Wulff Road, shortly after 4:00am on Sunday 28th February 2016. When police arrived on the scene, they observed four males fleeing from a store with firearms. The officers gave chase and caught one of the males who had a sharp object. He was shot during the arrest and taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Police examined the store and discovered that the suspects smashed a glass door to effect entry and stole a large amount of cash.Investigations are ongoing.
