ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 6:15 pm on Friday 29th October, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Dig Again Building Supply, Lobster Avenue, Golden Gates. Police responded and information received that two (2) masked males both of whom were allegedly armed with handguns entered the establishment demanding cash. The culprits robbed the store of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area in a champagne colored Chevy Envoy vehicle. Police are investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 11:30 pm on Friday 29th October, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Mount Royal Avenue and Wulff Road. Police responded and information received that a 36 year old male was walking on Mount Royal Avenue when he was approached by a blue Chevy vehicle occupied by three (3) males one of whom was allegedly armed with a handgun. The culprits robbed the victim of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area in an unknown direction. Police are investigating.

FIRE

Sometime around 2:20 am on Saturday 30th October, 2010 police received information of a building fire at Ira’s Backyard Restaurant & Bar, Mutton Fish Drive off Malcolm Road. Fire services responded and met the storage room of the single storey wooden structure engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished within a short period of time. The fire was contained to the storage room which was extensively damage. The Bar and Restaurant received no fire or smoke damages. Arson is suspected in this matter. Police investigations continue.

SHOOTING

Sometime around 10:30 am on Saturday 30th October, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Market Street and Ross Corner. Police responded and information received that a female was driving her 2006 Suzuki jeep south on Market Street when she was approached by three (3) males who attempted to rob her of jewelry. The female resisted and was subsequently shot to the right hand. The female was taken to hospital where she is listed in stable condition. Police investigations continue.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 3:30 pm on Saturday 30th October, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Asue Draw, Crooked Island Street and Balfour Avenue. Police responded and information received that two (2) masked males both of whom were allegedly armed with handguns entered the establishment and demanded cash. The culprits robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area in a green Honda Accord L/P number 57606 east along Balfour Avenue. Police are investigating.

ARREST

Police have in custody three (3) Cuban Americans all age 22 years, for allegedly assaulting police officers while executing their duties. The three, two males and a female were arrested shortly after 5:00 pm on Saturday 30th October, 2010 at Woodes Rogers Wharf. Police investigations continue.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 8:45 pm on Saturday 30th October, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Collins Avenue. Police responded and information received that a male while walking south on Collins Avenue was accosted by two (2) masked males one of whom was allegedly armed with a handgun demanding cash. The culprits robbed the victim of an undetermined amount of cash, jewelry, cell phone and lap top and fled the area in an unknown direction. Police are investigating.

SHOOTING

Sometime around 11:10 pm on Saturday 30 October, 2010 police received information of a shooting at Eneas Street off Meadow Street. Police responded and information received that two males while at Eneas Street got into an altercation which resulted in a 28 year old male receiving gunshot injuries to the to the chest and abdomen. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is listed in serious but stable condition. Police are following significant leads into the matter. Police investigations continue.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 12:20 am on Sunday 31st October, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Nassau Street near the roundabout at Poinciana Drive. Police responded and information received that a male and female while at Nassau Street was approached by two males both of whom were allegedly armed with handguns who demanded the keys to the silver 2000 Honda Accord L/P 195050 they were in. The culprits robbed the two of the vehicle and fled the area east on Poinciana Drive. Police are investigating.

STABBING

Shortly after 1:00 am on Sunday 31 October, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Ethel Street, Montell Heights. Police responded and information received that a male was walking on Ethel Street when he was approached by two males who stabbed him to the back. The 34 year old male was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is listed in stable condition. Police are following significant leads into the matter. Police investigations continue.

FATALITY

Sometime around 11:00 am on Sunday 31st October, 2010 officers at Mangrove Cay, Andros while on patrol in the area of Pete’s, Mangrove Cay, discovered the lifeless body of a male clad in a black jeans pants and a white shirt on western side of Queens Highway. It is reported the deceased was riding a moped when he lost control and collided with a utility pole. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The decease is believed to be a 25 year old resident of Little Harbour, Mangrove Cay Andros. A team of officers from the Traffic Division New Providence is presently on Andros assisting their colleagues with the investigations. Police investigations continue.

HOMICIDE

Sometime around 4:30 am on Sunday 31st October, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Club Illusion, East Bay Street. Information received that the decease while on the outside of Club Illusion got into an altercation with a group of men and was subsequently stabbed to the upper right arm. The 20 year old victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Police are questioning five (5) males ages, 20, 23, 32, 43 and 45 in connection with this incident. Police investigations continue.

FIREARM ARREST

Shortly after the above incident police received information of gunshots being discharged at Club Illusion and that persons were causing damage to vehicles in the area. Police responded and acting on information conducted a search of a nearby Apartment and recovered a handgun, ammunition and an undisclosed amount of cash. Five (5) people were taken into custody three (3) females ages 27, 24 and 21, the latter two (2) of which are from Atlanta Georgia and two males ages 35 and 41 years. Police investigations continue.

SHOOTING

Sometime around 4:30 am on Sunday 31st October, 2010 police received information of a shooting at the Lounge on East and Lewis Streets. Information received that the 20 year old victim was at The Lounge on East and Lewis Streets, when he received gunshot injuries to the left leg by persons unknown. The victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle where he is listed in stable condition. Police are investigating.

CRIME TIP

The public is advised to pay attention to your surroundings at all times. For persons who have to walk at night, be extremely careful… if possible get a ride from someone, even if it seems like an inconvenience. Stay away from areas with dim lighting or areas where trees/plants/fences provide easy cover from other vantage points.
