Thousands blocked offline as FACEBOOK GOES DOWN IN THE BAHAMAS!!!

Nassau, Bahamas — There is hysteria in the country tonight and in some households a violent meltdown over the lock-down of Facebook across the Bahamas via PC users.

Strangely, sometime after 7PM tonight Facebook users, ONLY the Bahamas, could not have access to the network. Bahamas Press made contact with Facebook operators in California, who could not offer reasons for the network being down in the Bahamas, and referred us to our local internet providers.

We made several attempts to contact Cable Bahamas and BTC, however, both providers did not answer the telephone lines.

Bahamas Press wonders how far onto the road to North Korea have we come? Facebook, in this modern 21 century Bahamas, is now being BLOCK-TESTED by someone or some entity? What is this! Elections must be around the corner.

Well this is not surprising to me because for many years Facebook has been used to damage the characters of many Bahamian individuals and recently there were many inappropriate photographs and videos being ‘shared’. However, we forget to remember the real reason why facebook was created, which is ‘to allow college students to keep in contact with their peers and to meet new college friends’.Which shows that facebook is for the mature and recently, there are many underage children lying about their age and being distracted from their school work. So maybe shutting facebook down is a good thing. There may be an increase in the national average if it is shut down

Facebook is not only down in the Bahamas, but it’s also down in Jamaica, Trinidad and numerous other countries located in Central America. Unless all of these countries decided to unite with one another to take away facebook from it’s citizens, this website should stop with all the accusations against the government until proven otherwise.

  12. This is ridiculous…and for those of you who don’t believe this story, trying hiding your IP address by using software such as ” Hide my IP”. You can google it download and either purchase it or use the trial. Use an american IP addres and you’ll get on facebook

    Its just a DNS issue. Its likely they made some changes to their IP or DNS and therefore it takes time to propagate around the web. California is closer to Facebook’s servers so ofcourse it will work there right away. Give it time loser, you will soon be able to visit that stupid website again.
