FNM Plot to Snatch Elections Revealed…Illegals to be Granted Citizenship By Gov’t?

Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham and Brent Symonette head of the Department of Immigration.

Nassau, Bahamas – Sources in the upper echelon of the Free National Movement tell us the campaign has begun and the registration process is moving steadily. However, despite the fact that all is not well in the camp of the FNM, if what we are being told is indeed true; a wicked plot to steal the next general elections in the country, is already in motion in the camp of the governing Party.

Bahamas Press reported some months ago how a woman complained of the stress she faced to register for the upcoming race. That resident of longstanding in the country revealed how she was denied the right to register following her inability to produce her 2007 voter’s card. The voter presented a current passport, however she was told that was not sufficient for her to register.

The Parliamentary Commissioner’s Office has been quiet on these incidents and appears to be moving in a fashion where it is business as usual.

Bain and Grants Town MP, Dr. B. J. Nottage, this week acknowledged that something is wrong at the Parliamentary Commissioner’s office. According to insiders we have learnt more than 3,000 persons are alleged have been given the run-a-round at the department since the registration process began last year. But that’s not all.

Dr. B.J.Nottage MP for Bain and Grants Town.

A disgruntled FNM general told BP, while the Commissioner is doing his own thing, a bigger plot is afoot. The general, we classify as CI Agent #1623 for the purposes of this article, has delivered a bombshell to the leading news website. According to the agent, operatives within the FNM apparatchik are working closely with a contingent within the department of immigration to regularize the status of some 4,000 plus persons before the next general elections are called, and this is just the beginning of our revelations.

“It is said by some in the Party the old tactic to bring in voters will not work well for us this time around because the likes of a Kajani Taylor proved to be a big issue in the last election court case. Those incidents of illegal voters voting exposed those efforts and therefore, we have a change in the game plan,” the agent said.

Readers would remember Taylor, a Jamaican national, was in possession of two voters card purchased out of the Parliamentary Commissioner’s office. In an affidavit the Court learned the cards were purchased for $1,000. The revelation was exposed during the Pinewood Election Court challenge. Taylor was whisked out of the country and deported back to Jamaica by the FNM government to evade trial.

Errol Bethel set to retire by offered to remain on the job for two more years.

Justice Anita Allen later ruled “Egregious Failures” on the part of the Parliamentary Commissioner’s office, resulted in mass voter fraud and confusion during the last elections; forcing votes in the Pinewood case to be thrown out.

Cabinet, we are told, appears to be carrying out the plot shared with us by agent #1623 as the Executive we can confirm have recently approved scores of persons seeking status in the country.

You would remember following the Mackey Yard fire on Fire Trail Road, The Prime Minister along with members of his Cabinet consoled many of the residents telling them the government will offer assistance through the department of immigration to have many of those residents regularized.

We can also confirm Cabinet sat two weeks ago and spent the entire day discussing approving immigration matters.

The granting citizenship would allow sores of voters to become regularize and deem them eligible to vote in the upcoming general elections.

Bahamas Press calls on the Department of Immigration to give an account of the number of persons having been granted citizenship in the past three years. We call on the government to confirm or deny our claims and we call on the general public to investigate this tragic plot to steal the outcome of an election from the genuine Bahamian public.

We can confirm more than 25,000 persons have registered so far for the upcoming General Elections.

I work with one whose only connection to this country was his Haitian parents live here. We have now given the entire family citizenship and their entire position is to open the doors to as many Haitians as wish to come. They may have been born and educated here but there are NOT BAHAMIAN in any sense of the word. Giving them citizenship will do one thing – make the doors to the US and the rest of the world that are now open to Bahamians close quickly and tightly. Make no mistake about it, America WILL NOT allow them to willy nilly come there and if we want to give them our passport, then we’re asking the world to treat us like they do them – an unwanted bunch. Bahamians need to be very careful in what they’re asking for. I have been at the airport when the US Border patrol agents have told us how different and special Bahamians are treated compared to any other country in this region or in South America. Don’t play with that. If the government starts giving out passports to the very group of persons the US and Canada are trying to keep out, well, when the pre-clearance section is closed and Bahamians are treated like the countries to the south of us, remember why. This is nothing to play with. The stakes are very high. That will be the destruction of our country. They are illegal invaders – plain and simple. Their culture, their religion and their beliefs are foreign to us and have destroyed their country and every other area where they have migrated to en masse. They are not our collegues – they are our enemies.

    • @ Bahmian and Proud, I read your post and I get goosebumps to hear how you speak of those that are more closely related to you than Americans and Canadians. Your own Caribbean brothers and sisters you seek to distance yourself from so that the Americans and Canadians will give you a welcoming greeting into their country.

We cannot as a country continue to alienate a group of people that live here among us and not give them the rights that we enjoy. We would only force them into creating their own system within ours, their own country within ours and one day may be able to take over the Bahamas. We must accept those born here and those here for many years and make them Bahamians, make them one of us.

I am not saying at all to allow illegal Haitian immigrants to continuously come here and to be given citizenship. We must put the necessary resources to stop them from getting here in the first place. We must stop hiring them for cheap labour.

Your sentiments expressed are just the reason why successive governments would not make the tough policy decisions to truly make some meaningfull address of this problem.

      • @ bahamian realist and bahamian and proud, good chat…we want the world to show us compassion, but we refuse to show it to our own handymen and maids, we are indeed a confuse people. haitian mammie only good for slavery, but her kids must go to else where.
How many middle and upper class bahamian have married persons from other nations? I know of many politicians, doctors, lawyers, business people and common people. we need a open forum on immigration now. Not the hate fill sloupy that lady always seem to scream about. all countries of the world have used the hand of others to build, look at Freeport, Abaco, and even new providence

I have always been an advocate for the integration of children of foreigners born in the Bahamas.Yes this is a hot political issue but truth be told from my study over the years there are more children of foreigners born here than Bahamians.Loftus Roker warned us of this dire situation but he was ignored and accused of being insensitive. The two fires in the Carmichael Rd area is a tip of the iceberg therefore I suggest integration of those who can prove their worthiness. Some Bahamians feel scream foul but am b eing a realist based on my study and movement throughout our Island. What is making this so inflammatory is the closeness to General Elections.I repeat there are more foreign Bahamians than natural Bahamians and even though I disagree with you “bahamianrealist” on many issues I concur with you on this posting.

  3. Lady Russell, I see that your response is one of a “connect the dots” conspiracy theory that there is some intention by our leaders to have our Bahamaland taken away from us and given to nationals of other countries. I cannot go along with you down that road.

Mr. Errol Bethel was first appointed under a PLP administration so I don’t know why there would be any more or less allegiance to the FNM administration over the PLP administration. He is a public servant and I don’t think it’s fair to cast aspersions on his integrity without credible evidence of intentional wrongdoing. By all indications he is doing a fine job notwithstanding the errors cited in the recent Elizabeth election court action. Errors have occurred in the past and will continue to occur in the future, it’s a fact of life, humans make errors. Mr. Bethel himself made no errors but persons for whom he is responsible for did so as head of the department the court named him.

On the matter of persons being made Bahamian, we must not continue to stick our heads in the sand and pretend that there are not thousands and thousands of persons that either came here illegally and have been here for 10, 20, 30, 40 years and yet thousands more that are their offspring who know no other home than the Bahamas as we “indigenous” Bahamians. We must as a country create a reasoned policy on how we will deal with such persons but no government wishes to do so because of the backlash that will undoubtedly come, and by your response is already starting.

Yes, the solution is and will be a painful one for Bahamians to stomach but it must be done. That solution is the naturalization of many thousands of persons we call “illegals”. As I listen to the talk shows and read the newspapers and online blogs I hear the so called simple solution of “send them back home”. What home? Many of them know of no other home. Let’s say we even attempted to do this, the outcry from the Haitian government would be as they have in the past that they cannot process and accommodate such a high volume of repatriations. Also their contention is for us would be to prove that the persons we are saying are Haitian nationals really are. How can we prove that someone is? Then there is the United Nations and groups such as Amnesty International who would bring international pressure to bear on brand our actions as being “inhumane”. I can go on but I don’t wish to write a thesis here.

We must be real and not pretend that the issues are so simple to solve otherwise we will jump on the bandwagon of the next person with the talk that soothes us to sleep into dreams of a utopia. How nice, but oh when we wake up to reality.

  4. To be granted Bahamian Citizenship that person must proved how long they have lived in the Bahamas. The FNM should be warned in the House oh Assembly that any and all citizenship’s granted to any person(s), who “did not” enter the Bahamas legally, regardless if they have lived here for umpteen years, will be reviewed and revoked if there is a change of government.

  5. This arrogant puppet,is seeking to cause anarchy,so he could defy all the laws of our land; then there is the centralization of wealth and power, the enriching of the few at the expense of many; the combination of the poorer immigrant classes for the defense of special interest.I foresee a spirit of unrest, riot and perhaps bloodshed. This nation-wide disillusion:almost, always leads to a fierce revolution.

  6. Persons coming to my country should not be “given” citizenship just willy-nilly. The idea that someone citizenship cannot be revoked is an insult to us Bahamians who love our homeland. Anyone foreign person who violates the Constitution of The Bahamas and poses a national security risk to my beautiful country should be made to purchase a one-way ticket out of The Bahamas before they could even blink! Foreign persons who want our citizenship bestowed upon them ought to live here and make a valuable contribution to our society for at least twenty-five years BEFORE they are granted citizenship. Furthermore, they ought NOT to be given voting rights – period! Furthermore, they ought NOT to be given jobs until every effort is made to secure qualified, trained, skilled and professional Bahamians.

BAHAMIANS FIRST! Anything less simply just won’t do!

    • Some of the most properous countries in the world are build on immigrants backs. Please, stop the xenophobia. All nations need some immigration to thrive. There must be order but there must also be reason.

  7. BP, I don’t know why this raises any questions as the cabinet is obligated to review aplications for citizenship and in my view must approve such applications unless there are concrete reasons why an applicant should be denied. There is a backlog of applications. If it’s the Government’s intention to “buy” votes why applications are being approved then what alternative is there? Do not approve any applications and leave persons in limbo? Approving an application for citizenship cannot be revoked after done unless done so through extraordianry measures. Persons approved can vote for who they wish, noone will be in the voting boothe with them.

    • Ooooh Bahamianrealist, you are back!

I just have to take a quick dash to beat some Conch, but I will address your post shortly.

Oh, I promise to leave the Conch-beater in the kitchen.

      • @ Bahamianrealist:
Whew! So sorry about the delay but I discovered a Baking Powder shortage in the pantry and had to run out to the all night convenience store. Following some very interesting conversations with fellow shoppers, I’m only just now enjoying my desired snack of West End styled Conch Fritters.
So as not to shortchange my response to your post, I shall continue my appraisal of the questionable motives of the Cabinet to issue passports to persons whose entry to the Bahamas precludes their receipt of Bahamian citizenship, ever!
In every other civilized nation, when illegal persons are discovered, the policy is expulsion, not citizenship. Who are we? Children of a lesser God or citizens of an inferior nation?
The devil is a liar! And yes, Mr. Errol Bethell needs to be removed from the Parliamentary Registration Office immediately, rather than later! I shall never forget the desperation of Ingraham to make Bethell Parliamentary Registrar, for life, during the failed Referrendum exercise of 2002. Why the unexplained loyalty to Bethell? What future service was Ingraham seeking to secure?
While you attempt to tell us concerned citizens that all is well, it reminds me of a case of Rat-bite. As you may be aware, rats blow a numbing cool air at the site of flesh removal, from their victims, however, as soon as the wound warms up to room temprature, the pain is excruciating!
Additionally, the recent press statement issued by the Royal Bahamas Police Dept. regarding the need for Creole speaking Police Officers to stem the flow of narcotics from Haiti into the United States is a CROCK! THIS CLEVER RUSE TO PROMOTE ANOTHER PLANK OF THE CSM&E THROUGH THE BACKDOOR BY IMPORTING HUNDREDS OF HAITIAN POLICE OFFICERS INTO OUR CONSTABULARY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, EITHER!
FIRSTLY, WE ARE THE SOVEREIGN NATION OF THE BAHAMAS! WE NEITHER NEED AMERICA’S APPROVAL NOR PERMISSION TO MANAGE OUR OWN INTERNAL SECURITY AFFAIRS. THE THREAT OF MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF COCAINE AND OTHER CONTRABAND BEING SHIPPED VIA THE BAHAMAS INTO THE UNITED STATES SHOULD COMPEL AMERICA TO ESTABLISH ORDER IN HAITI, POSTE HASTE!
FURTHER, WE DO NOT BELIEVE YOUR RATIONALE, NOR STATED OBJECTIVES. THE HAITIAN AIRPORT RECEIVES PLANELOADS OF COCAINE FROM SOUTH AMERICA WITH RED CARPET HANDLING BY WELL-PAID CUSTOMS AND POLICE OFFICIALS, MORE COMMITTED TO THEIR PERSONAL WEALTH ACCUMULATION THAN TO THE MAINTAINANCE OF LAW AND ORDER. BUT THAT IS THE HAITIAN PEOPLE’S BUSINESS AND AMERICA’S PROBLEM, WHICH HER DEA, CIA, FBI AND NSA FORCES ARE WELL EQUIPPED TO MANAGE, WITHOUT INTERFERENCE IN OUR DELICATELY BALANCED NATIONA LIFE.
SO WHAT IF CI# 1622 MAY HAVE PROMISED CARRIBBEAN INTEGRATION, WHILE HE WAS HEAD OF CARICOM? AS THE CHIEF SERVANT OF THE BAHAMIAN PEOPLE, INGRAHAM HAD NO AUTHORITY TO COMMIT US TO POLICIES, WHICH WE FIND OBJECTIONABLE AND HAVE REITERATED ON EVERY OCCASION THAT THE NATIONAL CONVERSATION WAS SO DIRECTED!
SO BAHAMIANREALIST, THERE YOU HAVE IT! IF THIS GOVERNMENT PERSISTS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF POLICIES OFFENSIVE AND DETRIMENTAL TO THE NATIONAL GOOD, THEY WILL BE FIRED FOR CAUSE, AND ALL QUESTIONABLE APPROVALS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY RESCINDED UPON THE ESTABLSHMENT OF A NEW POLITICAL ADMINISTRATION!
        YOU CAN BANK ON THAT!
