Swift Justice Begins in the Bahamas

This afternoon, Tuesday 12th June, 2012, Bendricko “Buju” Bain age 20 years, formerly a resident of Eight Mile Rock, was found guilty and convicted in the Supreme Court on the charge of murder before Justice Hartman Longley.

The conviction is in relation to the death of Kevin Alexander Carey of McLeans Town in October, 2009. Briefly, the deceased man was discovered with gunshot wound to the upper portion of the body in a vehicle on a service road at Pioneers Way East in the Coral Reef Estates Area on the morning of Thursday 8th October, 2009.

The matter was adjourned to 3rd August, 2012 for sentencing.

Update on boating incident in Abaco

The search continued today for possible survivors or bodies of the twelve persons not accounted for but the count remains the same.

Officers from the Central Detective Unit in Freeport have traveled to Abaco and they are leading the investigations incident that resulted in the death of eleven persons (the latest count).

Passengers who made it to safety are assisting in the investigation along with other members of the Haitian Community in regards to the identities, ages and other data.
