NASSAU| Well folks the man who Michael Pintard paid $50,000 along with two others in that murder for hire meeting some years back was landed in jail this week.
Mighty Spartacus Moncur, the man who was at the centre of the murder-for-hire plot has finally hit prison, and guess why?
Moncur, who court records only listed as “CM” was convicted of raping his girlfriend’s 12-year-old daughter on June 25, 2021.
The crime took place in a bushy area after “CM” (MONCUR) drove the victim away from a playroom at the Port Lucaya Marketplace, where they had gone to celebrate her primary school graduation.
Trial judge Justice Petra Hanna-Adderley initially sentenced CM to 15 years in prison, citing that he heavily breached his position of trust and robbed the child of her youth.
But on appeal, the Court of Appeal (consisting of Justice Evans, Chief Justice Sir Ian Winder, and Justice Smith) affirmed his conviction but officially varied and reduced his sentence to 13 years.
Now get this, CM’s prison sentence formally began on September 11, 2025, the day he was originally sentenced by Supreme Court Justice Petra Hanna-Adderley.In the Bahamian legal system, when the Court of Appeal varies or reduces a sentence, the new sentence is typically ordered to run from the date of the original conviction or sentencing, unless the appellate judges specifically direct otherwise.
Because the Court of Appeal merely reduced the duration from 15 years down to 13 years, his time served since September 2025 counts directly toward the new 13-year total.
