BIMINI| Police on the island of Bimini are investigating an incident involving a 37-year-old Austrian woman who was reportedly bitten by a shark off the coast of North Bimini.
According to preliminary information, shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, the woman was transported to the Bimini Community Clinic after reportedly being attacked by a shark.
The initial report indicates that she was participating in a dolphin excursion approximately three nautical miles off the coast of North Bimini when the incident occurred.
The woman reportedly sustained serious injuries to her right ankle. She was subsequently airlifted to New Providence, where she is receiving further medical treatment.
