Mitchell on Commonwealth Day – Our Environment, Bahamas Future…

STUDENTS ENCOURAGED TO SAVE ENVIRONMENT – Fred Mitchell, Member of Parliament for Fox Hill and Opposition Spokesman on Foreign Affairs spoke at both St. Andrew’s and St. Anne’s Anglican Schools in the Eastern District to mark Monday 10th March, 2008 as Commonwealth Day.  Speaking on the worldwide theme of Commonwealth Day, ‘Our Environment, Our Future’ Mr. Mitchell encouraged the students to “take the need to protect your environment, the fish, the birds, and the fauna into your lives when you leave this school.”  Mr. Mitchell is shown accepting a gift of appreciation from the students of St. Anne’s Anglican School.  From left are Special Assembly Moderator Trevann Thompson, Mr. Mitchell; Tyrea Palmer who presented the school’s token of appreciation and Cynthia Wells, Principal.
