Murder # 125 since 2009…Mother and boyfriend arrested for infant's murder

Nassau, Bahamas — POLICE TELL US sometime around 1:20 am on Monday 31st May, 2010 they received information that an 18 month toddler was brought to hospital unresponsive with visible signs of trauma to the forehead and stomach.

Shortly before five 5:00 am same date, police received information that the toddler succumbed.   The matter was investigated and subsequently the mother of the toddler and a male friend known to the mother was charged and  placed before the courts for murder, on Wednesday 2nd June, 2010.

FIREARM ARREST
Sometime around 11: 10 am on Tuesday 01st June 2010 officers of the Tourism Police unit acting on information conducted a search of a Champagne colored Cadillac in the area of Charlotte and Bay Streets.   Officers searched and recovered from the center console of the vehicle a handgun with ammunition.  A 23 year old male age of Skyline Lakes was taken into custody.  Police are investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY
Sometime around   6:50 pm   on Tuesday 01 June 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Lowes Pharmacy, Palmdale.  Police responded and information received that at a dark male clad in a long sleeve green camouflage shirt and short camouflage pants, wearing large shades entered the establishment allegedly armed with handgun demanding cash.  The culprit robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot in a westerly direction.  Police are investigating.

STABBING
Sometime around 8:30 pm on Tuesday 01st June, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at South Beach.  Police responded and information received that a 51 year old male of Summer Haven, while outside his residence at South Beach, got into an altercation three (3) males, which resulted in him being stabbed to the lower back, with an unknown object.  The male was taken to hospital via EMS where he is detained in stable condition.   Suspects fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.  Police are investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY
Sometime around 11:45 pm on Tuesday 1st June 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Hamster Road off Carmichael Road.  Police responded and information received that a female while at Hamster Road, was approached by two males one of whom was allegedly armed with handgun demanding cash.  The culprits robbed the female of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area in a dark blue Honda L/P number unknown.  Police are investigating.

FIREARM RECOVERED
Sometime around 1:38 am on Wednesday 2nd June, 2010 officers of the Southeastern division acting on information proceeded to the Churchill Sub-division off Soldier Road.  While there officers conducted a search of an abandoned building where they recovered a handgun and ammunition, in a sock under a stair.  No one was taken into custody.  Police are investigating.
