Police officer stabbed early this morning now in stable condition…

Breaking News coming into Bahamas Press confirms the stabbing of a police officer along with several other stabbing incidents. BP is confirming that a police officer, who was injured early this morning, is in stable condition.

We can confirm there are incidents under active investigating – that has left several persons detained in hospital and two persons in custody.

In the first incident, shortly after 4:00pm, a group of men were involved in an altercation at Joan’s Heights resulting in one of the men being stabbed to the upper back and the other to the arm. The men were taken to hospital where they are detained in stable condition.

In the second incident, shortly after 12:00midnight on Sunday 1st December 2013, two men were at a local nightclub situated at Coral Harbour, when they got into and altercation with another man who stabbed them to the upper back. The victims were taken to hospital where they are detained in stable condition.

In the third incident, around 12:20am on Sunday 1st December 2013, the victim was at Bernard Road, when she was attacked by a man known to her armed with a knife. The victim received stab wounds to the thigh and back and was taken to hospital where she is detained in stable condition.

In the fourth incident, shortly after 1:00am on Sunday 1st December 2013, an off duty Police Constable was attacked by two men armed with a knife and screw driver at Elizabeth Avenue, resulting in him receiving injuries to the head.

Two men ages 27 and 24 years were taken into custody in connection with this matter.
