BP THEME SONG AGAINST THE SALE OF BTC TO CABLE AND WIRELESS
BP wonders why Hubert Ingraham has rewritten the Memorandum of Understanding with Cable and Wireless? Who in the Boardroom of BTC is set to collect a 3% Finder’s FEE? Its a confidential thing.
We are watching an attempted extortion by government members in the “proposed” underpriced sale of BTC to “Careless” & “Wutless”(CWC). I noted with interest the Tribune’s attempt to shift national focus away from the “Finders Fee” issue, claiming that none had been paid. As though Bahamians are completely ignorant of the fact that commissions and fees are paid at the conclusion of any sales transaction and not at the beginning. For all the stunned Bahamians who are still asking WHY? would a government risk the certain prospect of being voted out of office for the payment of under-the-table bribe money to dispose of a national asset like BTC? The mystery is solved by seeking the answer to the simple question: If the asking price of BTC is $210 million dollars for an entity which is worth more in the neighbourhood of $1.2 billion dollars, then who is being paid the differnce? Answer: A goodly number of government members who come from nothing, never made more money than they are earning right now and who will sell their Mothers to leave public life with sizeable nest-eggs totalling millions of dollars.
But the real question is: Should we sit idly by and allow the theft to proceed unimpeeded by ‘We the People’, the true owners of the BTC national asset? I’m told that the recent legal action taken by the BCPOU, under the leadership of Bernard Evans, may prevent the BTC “proposed” sale matter from being debated on January 19th, but whenever the Prime Minister and his cronies find the nerve to raise the issue in the House of Assembly, the Bahamian people will also attend en mass to register their disapproval of this attempted robbery. Only this time the world will be watching, as international news networks zoom in on The Bahamas to broadcast this new atrocity in paradise!
