Police now paying for information with respect to Crime!

Murdered victim Kurt McCartney. - Keep on Praying Bahamas --

Nassau, Bahamas — Police are requesting the public’s help in solving two separate early morning shooting incidents that have left a man and a woman detained in hospital on Thursday.

In the first incident, around 3:45 am, the victim was attending a party at Valencia Drive, South Beach, where he was involved in an argument with another man, resulting in the man shooting the victim in the upper back with a handgun. The suspect then fled on foot. The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in serious condition.

In the second incident, around 9:28 am, the female victim was standing with a group of persons in the Ferguson Sub-Division area, when two men (one armed a handgun) approached them and open fire at them. The two men then fled on foot. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach area and was taken to hospital where she is detained in serious condition.

A short while later police arrested a 23-year old man in the Carmichael Road area in connection with this matter.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding these two incidents, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands).

A cash reward of up to $1000 is offered by Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

The McCartney Family has also offered a reward for the “Arrest and Conviction” of a suspect or suspects involved in the murder of Kurt McCartney.

Kurt will be laid to rest this Saturday. His Mass of Thanksgiving will be held at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Nassau. His body will be laid to rest in the Western Cemetery.
