Nassau, Bahamas – A 40-plus year career with the Bahamas Telecommunications Company, (BTC) came to a close for Elias Major last Friday when management and colleagues gave him a rousing send-off party.
Marked with tears and laughter, friends and colleagues recalled memories and occasions shared as a matter of course in a typical days’ work. In his address, Mr Major said he had witnessed many technology changes such analog, digital, soft switch and the wireless network.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the work that I did, there was never a dull moment; the days and nights at work were always full of excitement. I consider BTC to be a family organization. I’ve made long lasting friendships external and internal to BTC. I would not have achieved this milestone without the help of so many of you, too many to name. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all, especially to the Power Team, who made my job quite easy.”
He said he wanted the relationships formed over time to continue. “I hope my relationship with all of you at BTC will continue as I transition into this new phase of my life and career.”
