NASSAU| On Monday, 31st August, 2026, police launched an investigation into a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Carmichael Road in the vicinity of South West Plaza, resulting in the death of an adult male.
Preliminary information indicates that shortly before 2:00 a.m., police were notified of a traffic collision on Carmichael Road. Officers were dispatched to the scene, where they found a blue Honda Fit vehicle with four unidentified male occupants trapped inside.
The vehicle had reportedly collided with a fence belonging to a business establishment before subsequently crashing into a tree on the northern side of the roadway. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.
Fire Services personnel responded to the scene and successfully extracted the occupants from the vehicle. Emergency Medical Services transported the men to hospital, where they were admitted in serious condition.
Traffic investigators later visited the hospital and were informed by medical personnel that the adult male driver had succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical care.
The investigation remains ongoing.
