Breaking news report now coming into Bahamas Press confirms that Jermaine Russell is dead.
Russell was shot several times shortly after 3:00 am this morning at Apple and Peach Streets by a man armed with a handgun. He was in the area exiting a club when a hail of bullets descended in his direction.
Russell, we can report, was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after 8:00 am this morning.
Last July, Russell, then 33, of Pinewood Gardens was arraigned before Magistrate Constance Delancey in connection a July 7 armed robbery. He was known to police.
