Nassau, Bahamas — The employees of Baha Mar sacked this past Monday in a lie pitched by the Baha Mar executives marched Friday, but in an amazing twist proclaimed that they love “Sarkis”! But get this: Sarkis don’t give a damn about them and have failed to pay them!

Sarkis and crew at Baha Mar sacked the staff just after they filed a Bankruptcy action in a court in Delaware on Monday. That action was done without the knowledge of the Bahamas Government or its lender, The Chinese Import Export Bank!

On Thursday the Chairman of Baha Mar issued a letter to workers stating that the Government of the Bahamas is now responsible for paying salaries, only days after he assured those same workers that they will be paid even after he sent them home for “Extermination Exercises”! What in da hell is dis?! Utter Contempt!

We now understand, to stem the crisis, the government, through its agency The Hotel Corporation, will foot the estimated $7.5 million bill to pay the salaries of Baha Mar workers this month in a bid to block them from being used as “pawns” in the resort’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy claim, according to Attorney General Allyson Maynard-Gibson yesterday. The AG noted that the government has asked Baha Mar to forward the list of employee data. However, while the Government has already positioned the money to the account for payment, the company is still refusing forward pay details!

Bahamas Press has learnt Baha Mar owes the Government a whopping $41 million in outstanding taxes, and get this: HAS NEVER PAID FOR THE LAND THE PROPERTY NOW SITS ON! BEC is owed an incredible $19.5 million by Baha Mar, and so is Cable Bahamas and BTC! Well, what in da hell is dis!

Along with these developments is the fact that a ton of Bahamians are owed money by Baha Mar! They were listed in the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy action; companies like the Nassau Guardian, The Tribune and a bunch of others of interest to the former Deputy Prime Minister Brent Symonette are all owed!

Attorney General Gibson added, “This is the people of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas deciding as a matter of high constitutional principle that matters we are advancing, that these kinds of matters, ought to be heard in our courts and that the employees ought not to be pawns. They ought to be paid and these matters will be adjudicated upon in Bahamian courts.”

And while Sarkis dem was collecting $3.5 from the Chinese Bank, millions in concessions from the Government and additional funds from hotel brands like Hyatt, SLS and Rosewood, the people doing the heavy lifting and performing services to the brand were not being paid! Now this must be the BIGGEST SCAM OF THE CENTURY THE COUNTRY HAS EVER SEEN!
