Bandits Rob BTC of an Undetermind Amount of Cash This Morning

Nassau, Bahamas —  Bahamas Press is reporting sometime around 9: 30 am today, police received information of an armed robbery at Batelco (BTC) located in the Shirley Street Plaza, Shirley Street.  Upon arrival police say it was reported two males, one of whom was allegedly armed with a handgun, entered the establishment placed a handgun to the security officers’ head, handcuffed him and demanded cash.

The culprits then escorted the security officer to the cashier’s cage where they robbed the establishment of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area on foot in a northerly direction.  Police responding received additional information that the culprits were seen getting into a gray Dodge truck.

Sometime later officers observed the truck on Fowler Street between Shirley Street and East Bay Street.  Officers proceeded to give chase, which ended up in the Sutton Street area off Kemp Road with one male being arrested.

Acting on information police proceeded to Blair Estates, where they arrested a second male and a female in a vehicle.  Officers also recovered a handgun.

Police Bullet Proof Vest/ Ammunition and Drugs Recovered

Sometime around 4:00pm on Thursday 25th November, 2010 officers of the Central Detective Unit acting on information conducted a search of a bushy area on Dorsette Street off Adderley Street and recovered a bag containing a large quantity of ammunition and  suspected marijuana,  along with a bullet proof vest.  No one was taken into custody.  Police are investigating.

Another SHOOTING in Fox Hill

Sometime around 7:00 pm on Thursday 25th November, 2010 police received information of a shooting at Blueberry Hill, Fox Hill.  Police responded and information received that a 28 year old male was standing outside his residence at Blueberry Hill when he was approached by a dark colored Toyota Windom occupied by two masked males demanding cash.  The victim told the men he had no cash and was subsequently shot to the buttocks.  The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is detained in stable condition. The culprits fled the area in an unknown direction.  Police are investigating.

Idel and Samantha Beauty Salon Gets Robbed

Sometime around 7:15 pm on Thursday 25th November, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Idel and Samantha Beauty Salon, Faith Avenue.  Police responded and information received that two (2) males one of whom was allegedly armed with a handgun entered the establishment demanding cash.  The culprits robbed the patrons of an undetermined amount of cash and jewelry and fled the area in an unknown direction.  Police are investigating.

Another young woman attempts SUICIDE

Shortly after 6:00 pm on Thursday 25th November, 2010 police received information of an attempted suicide at Ross Corner.  Police responded and information received that an 18 year old female attempted to commit suicide.  The female was found at home with multiple injuries to the hands and legs.  The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where she is detained in stable condition.  Police are investigating.
