POLICE: 2 Saturday night armed robberies – Police uncover firearm

Nassau, Bahamas – According to reports, around 6:30pm on Saturday 23rd November 2013, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Buttonwood Avenue, Pinewood Gardens, where they located a handgun hidden in an abandoned building. Investigations are ongoing.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating three (3) male suspects responsible for two (2) separate overnight arm robberies.

In the first incident, shortly before 7:00pm on Saturday 23rd November 2013, the victim was at Sapodilla Boulevard, Pinewood Gardens, when two (2) men wearing black hooded jackets and armed with a handgun, approached him and demanded cash. The suspects robbed the victim of a cellular phone and bracelet before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly after 12:00midnight on Sunday 24th November 2013, the victim was sitting in his 2001 Honda Civic vehicle license number 250835 on Tonique Darling Highway, when a man armed with a handgun approach him and ordered him out of his vehicle. The suspect then sped off in the victim’s vehicle.

Investigations are ongoing.
