BFM Leader Dr. Dave Burrows to Open Biggie Fest in Grand Bahama

Nassau, Bahamas — The Bahamas Global Youth Festival (aka Biggie Fest) officials announced today that newly appointed President and Senior Pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International (BFMI), Dr. Dave Burrows, will open the festival in Grand Bahama next month.

This will be his first major platform since taking the helm of BFMI after the tragic passing of his long-time close friend, and former beloved leader, Pastor Dr. Myles Munroe, his wife and seven others in a plane crash last November.

Biggie Fest, slated for Grand Bahama from April 8 – 10, 2015 will be held at the Grand Lucayan Resort – climaxing on April 10, 2015 with a Bahamas Gospel Party and Cd release Concert of Tony Lowe and Doranell Brown at Count Basie Square in the Port Lucaya Marketplace.

The theme for Biggie Fest is “Inspired by Hope”.

President of the Grand Bahama Port Authority, Ian Rolle is also slated to address the young participants on the topic,”Entrepreneurship & Expectations for youth and investments in Grand Bahama.”

Said Pastor Dave:”Our world is constantly changing and sometimes not for the better. Many of our youth are mired in a negative culture that is producing social misfits and reinforcing negative stereotypes. Against this backdrop it is my pleasure to hear of and be invited to assist in the launching of this profound initiative the Bahamas Global Youth Fest also known as Biggie Fest.”

Pastor Dave will be speaking on the topic,”The next Big Thing-Using Technology for Communicating Christ Message in a Social Media world.”

He commented that “it is initiatives such as these that help us return to the values that made us great as a nation and world and Iook forward to a great event in Grand Bahama.”

Affectionately known as “Davy B” or “The Ruff neck Pastor”, Dr. Burrows is the founder of the very reputable and influential youth ministry – Youth Alive.

Once a troubled youth, himself, embracing the street world of drugs, sexual promiscuity, violence and crime, Pastor Dave was able to turn his life around with the influence of his brother-in-law Pastor Robyn Gool. He went on to graduate from Oral Roberts University with a degree in Social Work and Business.

Dr. Burrows is one of the foremost authorities in the world on Youth development and Youth Ministry. As a lifetime Youth Ministry specialist with over 25 years of experience in Youth development, training and mentoring Dave has pioneered many successful programs for youth affecting gangs, youth from all backgrounds, youth leaders around the world and Churches, Pastors and entire organizations and denominations.

He has served as an advisor to the Bahamas Government and Cabinet on Youth matters in his home country, advising the Bahamas Government as Chairman of the National Youth Advisory Council on three occasions. He is currently President of Dave Burrows Youth and Family Ministries, Youth Alive Ministries and founder and president of The Christian Youth Leaders Network and the Global Youth Ministry Leadership Network.

The Bahamas Global Youth Festival was founded by Rev. Clinton Minnis, President of Clinton Minnis Global (CMG), the event’s host.

Also presenting at the Bahamas Global Youth Festival will be Pastor Laquez Williams – Founder of Potential Ministry and Associate Pastor at St. John’s Jubilee Cathedral in Grand Bahama;Dr. Michael Taylor from Jamaica – a professor and Environmental Scientist at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus; Advocate and Peace and Development specialist, Rev.Brickon Sam, formerly of Sierra Leone; Rev. Donald Lawrence; Dr. Janice Landry, Missions Co-ordinator, YEAH Ministries Inc.; and Rita Jones Dudley – Relationship Specialist at Yeah! Ministries Inc. USA.

Other participants include Rev.DenoCartwright, Director of the Bahamas National Baptist Youth Ministries; Rev. Diana Francis, pastor, First Baptist Church and the President of the National Student Christian Movement (Bahamas); Minister Valentine Johnson from Kingdom Worship Center and Rev. Christine Bethel, Founder and President – Pacesetters Global Young Adult Ministries.

Rev.Minnisis especially humbled that Dr. Burrows, and the many presenters from all over the world, have accepted his invitation to speak at this inaugural event in Grand Bahama.

Dr. Burrows, who is married to Pastor Angie Burrows, is also president and founder of The Winners Touch, a motivational and business entity and founder and CEO of Megabyte Computers and One Rib Publications.

An accomplished author Dr. Burrows has published thirteen books, served as executive producer of five movies and three music soundtracks. His works include Making the Most of Youth Teenage Years, Sex and Dating, Kingdom Parenting which he co-authored with Dr. Myles Munroe and the Power of Positive Choices. He has appeared on many local and international television programs and events hosted by TBN, TD Jakes Potters Touch, Oral Roberts University, Messiah College, Armstrong Williams, The Potters House Denver, Dr. Fred Price and many others. He has spoken and conducted seminars extensively in the United States, Caribbean, Canada, Europe and Africa.

In addition to Youth and Family ministry Dr. Burrows has served as a business and technology consultant for many organizations. His clients have included corporations, civic and social organizations and churches. He was a longtime associate of Dr. Myles Munroe having served for many years as Vice President of both Bahamas Faith Ministries and Myles Munroe International.

Dr. Burrows has mentored and coached many individuals to personal and business success and continues to serve as both an inspirational and motivational speaker and life coach.
