"If You Can't find Ya Friends In Nassau (they're in Freeport or in jail)"

the-apolgyClick and listen to ZNS report on the missing former MP last night!

Nassau, Bahamas: Friends of a former PLP member of Parliament are singing a song on Eric Minnis’ 1981 release. The MP  was arrested in Cuba following a police raid in his hotel room. He was having sex with an underage male prostitute. The 1981 hit went, “When ya can’t find ya friends in Nassau dey in Freeport or dey in JAIL!”

No one has seen or can say exactly where the former MP is. Not even his family can confirm where exactly the once sharply dressed  pinstriped former parliamentarian is hiding. NOT one statement comes from him. Not one confirmation or denial of the incident comes from him. NO, NOT ONE single press release or email is written and communiqued from him. Not one sound-byte comes from the man who was so quick to capture the lens of the camera. He so loved press attention, he would grab a broom and join street sweepers in the downtown area to make the news.

The British embassy in Jamaica cannot confirm whether the former MP has entered London. The Bahamian ambassador Paul Farquarson stationed in London cannot do the same. The family who says he is in London, according to ZNS, refuse to put a name to their statement now circulated on National TV. The PLPs are tight-lipped over the matter, we forgot GAGGED. The LEADER and the Chair who are authorized to speak on such a matter themselves now appear to be held to that gag order. NOW THAT’S A TIGHT! NOT A WORD HAS COMES FROM THEM! However, ZNS says that someone in the PLP told them what is being reported is not true. Well, if it is not true, please tell that former MP, who suppose to be in London studying law – so they claim – to email this website and tell us how did he come out of that Cuban dungeon? The whole Bahamas wants to know.

We who have done our homework stand by our report. The former MP was arrested! We remind our readers, CUBA when it comes to minors, is NOT like the Bahamas. Nor do they share their criminal matters with any country of the world. Bahamian officials to this day still do not know how many of its citizens sit in the Cuban jails. They do not know where the former MP is either!

Why don’t this lawyer in training get his feet wet, come OUT OF THAT CLOSET and defend his name?

Well Cuba says he is not in CUBA. Good, but guess what? Bahamas Press in short order will prove the former MP is NOT IN GREAT BRITON either. What you will say to that when we reveal that and CALL HIS NAME?

  3. I am just asking questions BP. I am not being sarcastic. I would think you know what you are talking about. I really dont care where he is. The question is, does those allegations brought to the individual true or false? The Bahamian people want the answer to that. But other than that, these issues are not important to be discussing so lengthy on. We have more issues of National Importance. We need to discuss and gather information to tackle these problems and leave hott gossip for now.

Wow, then why somebody don’t call the school in London to find out if “Pinstripe” is there. That should be easy.
    [Reply]

Because then the story would come to an end and they won’t be able to sell anymore “newspapers”.

  7. call it as I see it :
And call it, you didn’t see me quote the Minister or say where I heard him was on the news, so you get it right. Unlike a lot of you, I don’t get my news second and third hand.

    WOW! :
I see even Brent Symonette saying this story is not true.

You are right Wow, you did not say that you heard it on the NEWS, but you post it in black and white . Check the box above!
Please when you step to “Call It” come correct! I like to do research!
And maybe you don’t get second and third hand news, unlike a lot of us maybe you got it straight from the horses mouth.

    WTF?

  8. If my name was never called Im not going to say that its not me cuz ya never called my name. Then if I say It isnt me then ya ga say I guilty or I lie. Why dont you guys say who it is Formally and present ya evidence without fear of getting in legal matters. If he is in Cuba sentenced for 15 years then the Bahamas should know, its already out there for he was a public figure IF THIS ALL IS TRUE. If it isnt true, then that means the FNM has bought BP as a rag to wipe out the PLP’s Character…No Ill never believe that…Hope it isnt so

WOW, also keep in mind if the story is true, “pinstripe” and other former government ministers did a “LOT” of good things in favor of the Cuban Government and the Cuban people, so the Cuban Counsel here in Nassau would not make “pinstripe” look bad. He would owe Cuba another favor when the PLP gets back in power. The Cuban People are very smart people they would play the cards in THEIR GOVERMENT”S favor.

Using that logic, they would benefit even more if they had released him. Keeping him in custody just increases the chances of the story being revealed if that is the Cuban Governments justification. Nobody is providing an argument for why NOBODY in the press is calling his name. Can it be they don’t want to embarrass him? No. Can it be they don’t want to embarrass the PLP? No. Do they care about his privacy? No. The only reason can be they don’t want to get their buts sued.

WOW! :I see even Brent Symonette saying this story is not true. Vernon Burrows says that nobody with that name has entered Cuba since 2003. I hope y’all sources don’t let you down when you start calling names. I especially hope you’re not putting all your faith and trust in a document because you see just how credible the letter from ASOVE prove to be.
Just some friendly advice to a friend cause I happen to know that the parties involved just itching for somebody to be bold enough to print a name in the story. Even the Punch scared to do that.

Get it right, do not misquote the Minister of Foreign Affairs, he NEVER said that the story is not true. Rather it was reported by Z.N.S reporter Jerome Sawyer that he said, and I quote “his office has denied receiving any communication from Cuba and they are unable to comment for lack of information.” In essence the Minister has neither confirmed or denied the story.
As for the Vernon Burrows story, BOLOGNE!! How many Bahamian have visited Cuba and had their passports STAMPED as proof that they have been there?
It is very unlikely that pinstripe paid a courtesy call on the Consulate or notified them that he was visiting. Cuba is a still a communist country, you will know what they want you to know. I know of Bahamians who were locked up in Cuba for months before their families knew the truth.
They only way to dispel an alleged rumor of this magnitude is to make a physical appearence or a phone call. One can call the Bahamas from the UK for as low as 4 cents per minute. The same way John Carey cleared his name from abroad, Pinstripe should use his common sense and do the same, if indeed he is a free man.
If this is true there is no sense in lying, the truth will eventually come out.

That’s right call it. You see that hey. Carey wrote one letter less than 3 days confirming that he had no intent of leaving the PLP. But this character cannot access an email from his cell phone. And you know why? Cause he LOCK UP das why! He in JAIL!

Media, the difference here is that the stories about John Carey CALLED HIS NAME. I bet you if some media house has the cojones to call a name, we will find out fast enough if this story is true or not. Now the question is, who is going to take one for the team?

  18. Wow I can guarantee you we will not only call the name but show his fact. We are awaiting on document out of Jamaica from the British embassy office and when that is done, we will be ready to prove our story.

  19. BP, everyone talking about how come the MP has not spoken or released a statement. Not one of these so called news outlets has called a name. If y’all want a response from a specific MP call a name. Why is every “news organization” scared to call his name if they are so sure of their sources. Hmmmm.. maybe it has something to do with a LIBEL LAWSUIT.
