Gomez set to begin campaigning on January 1st….
Nassau, Bahamas — One of the country’s brightest constitutional scholars has left the Attorney Generals Office today following a reception.
Hon. Damian Gomez QC, Minister of State in the Ministry of Legal Affairs, effective today ended his service in the Christie Cabinet to return to private practice.
Earlier this month Bahamas Press announced the resignation of Minister Gomez, which the explanation suggested “personal reasons” for his leaving office.
His Ministerial Portfolio included: Law Reform and Revision, Legal Education, Coroners, Justices of the Peace, Legal Aid and Relations with the Industrial Relations Tribunal.
Minister Gomez shall remain as a Member of Parliament for the South and Central Eleuthera constituency and is expected to return as a candidate in the 2017 General Elections.
