Voter Fraud Now Real Issue in Elizabeth Constituency

Errol BethelNassau, Bahamas — One apartment unit in the Elizabeth Constituency has had some 10 voters registered to it with person therein having registered since November 16th, 2009, sources in the Parliamentary Registration have confirmed to Bahamas Press.

Bahamas Press can confirm the discovery heightens concerns over voter fraud in the upcoming by-election and further raises questions concerning the country’s registration process.

Where are the 700 plus person in ‘Lizzy’ who cannot be found? Bahamas Press shall begin to call the names.

Once again Bahamas Press reminds the public of a ruling following the May 2, 2007 general elections. Readers would remember in the election court challenge in the Pinewood constituency, Justices Anita Allen and Jon Isaacs cited that there are ‘egregious failures’ in the electoral registration system in The Bahamas.

  4. How are people registering illegally the fault of the PC? From what I recall, anyone can go in, present ID, and tell the Clerk where you live. They then check the data on a map, then tell you then register you. Bahamians are just too dishonest. Any PC would be in the same position, based on the level of crookedness in the society.   5. He was a PLP under LOP but he is a HI man and has turned FNM since HI switched to the FNM… He is my family and I talk to him from time to time…. He plans to work the next general election and then quit!! He should have been fired months ago but as long as HI is in charge that will NEVER happen unless HI convinces him to retire and take another job which I think he is not interested in at all!!
