Area MP proves he is a real champion for young people!

Arnold Forbes Summer Camp opens.

Nassau, Bahamas — The Member of Parliament for Mt. Moriah Hon. Arnold Forbes officially opened his first youth summer camp for constituents at the C. W. Sawyer Primary School and is geared toward children between the ages of six to fourteen.

Ending on July 27th, 2012 the camp is a structured program geared towards helping youth to believe in themselves. Over the next two weeks, young participants will take part in language and math classes, and will also be introduced to various craft training such as jewelry making, shell craft and straw materials.

The campers will also be introduced to health and fitness training, and social development courses such as conflict resolution, team building, self esteem, grooming and etiquette.

The camp promises to be an exciting one as participants can expect lots of field trips including trips to the Royal Bahamas Defense Force Base, Clifton Heritage Site, Forts and the Coca Cola Factory.

Campers will also be provided with free lunch meals, free camp t-shirts, and scheduled bus pickup at various community parks such as the Rockcrusher Basketball Park, and Stapledon Gardens Mckinney Avenue Park.

Arnold Forbes is the man with a 'GOLDEN HEART' for people.

Mr. Forbes expressed his thanks to his Camp Director Mrs. Taneko Adams and her dedicated team of teachers that will spearhead this camp.

Mr. Forbes thanked the many facilitators including the Royal Bahamas Police Force and its K-9 Unit and Fire Branch. Mr. Forbes noted that he plans to aggressively move to always find creative ways to empower the community of Mt. Moriah.

He also noted that this camp is the first of many major initiatives that he will establish in Mt. Moriah.

Mr. Forbes believes through these various programs he can help Mt. Moriah to believe in their community.

Registration is ongoing and interested constituents can register their kids at the C W Sawyer Primary School.
